I'm writing because there's a big problem. I need your help right away.
Senate Republicans are rallying behind the new Graham-Cassidy bill, an extreme and far-right version of Trumpcare.
It rips away Americans' health care -- all to destroy President Obama's legacy and score political points. The Affordable Care Act would be eliminated.
It's not only heartless -- it could actually pass before their deadline at the end of the month. That's why I need your immediate action.
Will you sign your name and condemn the Senate Republicans' new plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act? Help us hit TWO MILLION STRONG >>
Byong, your voice means everything right now.
Your voice can help stop these Republicans.
Your voice can save health care for that child with a disability or that grandparent in a nursing home.
Millions of Americans are relying on you right now.
Please, use your voice to rise up and protect President Obama's legacy, and stop this from becoming law.
Let's hit TWO MILLION SIGNATURES standing against repealing the Affordable Care Act >>

Thank you,

Fw: I need to know you're with me in the fight for Medicare for All

PCCC Sisters and Brothers --

Today is an historic day. Along with over a dozen co-sponsoring senators, I am proud to introduce Medicare for All single-payer health care legislation in the U.S. Senate. Today we begin the struggle to transform our dysfunctional health care system and make health care in the United States a right, not a privilege.

The insurance companies, the drug companies, and Wall Street won't like this legislation. They will try to make words like "NATIONAL HEALTH CARE" sound scary.

They will spend huge amounts of money in lobbying and campaign contributions to defeat this legislation and maintain a system in which they make hundreds of billions a year in profit, while ordinary people suffer.

Enough is enough! Now is the time for us to take them on, join every other industrialized country on earth, and guarantee quality healthcare to every man, woman, and child in our country.

People across the nation will take action today for Medicare For All. Please be one of them -- sign this petition showing your support.

I'll work with the PCCC and other progressive groups to highlight the growing movement in support of Medicare For All to my colleagues and the media.

The American people are with us on this issue. They understand that it is absurd that we spend almost twice as much per capita on health care as any other country and that we pay, by far, the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs.

They also know that we already have a very popular and effective single-payer system in this country. It's called Medicare, and it has succeeded in providing near-universal coverage to Americans over the age of 65. It is time to expand Medicare to all.

Medicare for All means that Americans will no longer hesitate about going to the doctor because they can't afford the cost. It will mean:

  • A hospital stay will not bankrupt us or leave us deeply in debt.
  • We can go to the doctor we want, not just one in our particular plan.
  • We will no longer be spending enormous amounts of time filling out complicated forms and arguing with insurance companies as to whether or not we have the coverage we paid for.
  • We will be able to get the prescription drugs we need at a price we can afford.
  • Middle class families will not have to spend 20 or 30 percent of their incomes in health care.

The time is now to address one of the great crises our nation faces. I am glad the Progressive Change Campaign Committee is with me in this fight.

I need to know that you're with me in this fight and are prepared to join the struggle.

Please add your name as a supporter of Medicare for All.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders
